Systems Engineer
Description:
Consult with clients, analyze workflow and business requirements, and identify appropriate technology solutions to increase productivity, profitability, and customer service. Design, recommend, specify, configure, install, test, manage and/or maintain all aspects of LAN/WAN hardware, operating systems, application software, security, telecommunications/Internet services, and various service providers. Participate in the development of policies and procedures. Research and evaluate new technologies. Plan and manage multiple projects. Provide technical assistance to clients and employees.
Requirements:
Requirements include the ability to understand business requirements and efficiently apply technology solutions to achieve those goals. MCSE plus five years field experience installing and supporting network operating systems; virtual systems; system utilities and applications such as backups, remote access (including terminal server or Citrix), SQL and other application servers, network management tools, software distribution, virus/spyware/spam protection, network fax; groupware products such as Microsoft Exchange; Internet/WAN connectivity and security including routers, firewalls, and other components. Linux and Novell knowledge is a plus. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual interested in joining an entrepreneurial team, able to keep pace in a fast moving, always evolving workplace; and be able to adapt to new technology. Excellent communication and customer service skills are critical.
